Nick Bastin

A specialist in cross-border investor relations and financial communications, Nick Bastin joined Capital MSL in 2006 and has seventeen years’ experience advising clients on various aspects of their international capital markets communications activities.
Nick started his career advising on and implementing the communications elements of privatisation programmes in Central and Eastern Europe, including Romania, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Hungary and Poland.
Since then, Nick has built up extensive experience in reputation management for high profile organisations, advising senior level personnel on financial and corporate communications strategy, crisis and issue management, investor and media relations. Nick has strong transaction experience having worked on over 30 international IPOs and 20 M&A deals.
Current clients include BP, Essar Energy, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, ezzsteel, Doughty Hanson, Delta Lloyd, Wataniya Mobile, Nawras, Majedie Asset Management.
Prior to joining Capital MSL, Nick spent six years at Smithfield Financial and five years at Dewe Rogerson. An arts graduate from Lancaster University, Nick also has a Masters in African Studies from London University. Nick speaks French.
